Description
This is a charming piece of cinematic history: an 8″ x 10″ color photograph signed by Margaret Pellegrini, one of the original Munchkins from the 1939 MGM classic The Wizard of Oz. In the image, Pellegrini is pictured in her “Flower Girl” costume amidst a field of poppies, likely at a commemorative event later in her life. The signature is bold, inscribed in black marker, and addressed to “Hollywood Blvd.” As a collector, I find these pieces increasingly rare as the era of the original cast has passed. The item is housed in a contemporary black tiered wooden frame. Regarding condition, the photograph shows vibrant color with no visible fading; however, the ink has bled through to the reverse of the photo (not visible while framed), and the frame shows minor shelf wear.
