Hollywood Blvd Cinema Memorabilia
Lot 1145:
Description
A breathtaking, large-scale architectural portal inspired by the opulent “Hollywood Regency” Chinoiserie style, reminiscent of the iconic Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. The set features two massive, high-relief sculpted dragon columns expertly cast from fiberglass and specialized composite materials, allowing for intricate, deep-relief detailing while maintaining structural manageable weight for large-scale installations. Finished in vibrant red, gold, and polychrome pigments, these columns support a heavy lintel and a central fan-shaped pediment adorned with twin golden dragons. The entrance is further defined by a pair of heavy, weathered “ancient” style double doors with iron-like strapping and faux-stone textures. The construction utilizes high-durability composites and metal hardware to create a convincing cinematic atmosphere. The piece shows minor surface wear, small chips to the pigment on the fiberglass columns, and intentional architectural distressing on the doors to enhance the antique aesthetic, but remains structurally impressive and visually commanding. H 14′, W 16′, D 4′. Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection.
