Description
This exquisite hanging lantern is a masterclass in Islamic-style metalwork, likely originating from Morocco or Egypt. It features intricate silver-toned wire filigree and pierced metal panels that would cast mesmerizing geometric shadows when lit. The piece is further elevated by a decorative circular ceiling rose adorned with golden foliate accents and inset with turquoise and coral-colored cabochons. The craftsmanship suggests a mid-20th-century production, blending traditional Moorish aesthetics with grand proportions. The item appears to be in good vintage condition, though there is visible surface oxidation (patina) consistent with age, and some minor dust accumulation within the delicate filigree work.
