Lot 2108:
Description
This impressive piece of German craftsmanship features a blade manufactured by the renowned firm Paul Weyersberg & Co. of Solingen, Germany, as indicated by the crisp spine markings. The sword is designed in the classic “Dove Head” style, a staple for military and civil service dress uniforms during the early to mid-20th century. It boasts an intricately etched blade (unsharpened) with floral and military equipment motifs, a wire-wrapped grip, and a nickel-plated hilt and scabbard. The blade shows some darkening and minor oxidation near the tip, while the hilt and scabbard exhibit light surface scratching and minor plating wear consistent with age. The grip remains tight, though the wire has minor movement. H 34.5″, W 4.75″, D 1″. Disclaimer: Disclaimer: Due to the high quality of WWII German fakes, this item is sold as-is without warranty of authenticity.
