Description
This lot features a WWII-era German War Merit Cross 2nd Class without Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwerter). Struck in a bronze-toned alloy, this award features the Maltese cross design with a central swastika and the "1939" date on the reverse, signifying merit in non-combat roles. This example is an "unmarked" variety, which is common as many manufacturers did not stamp the suspension rings. It is accompanied by its black presentation case and the standard red, white, and black ribbon. The medal is in pristine condition with sharp details and a clean finish; the presentation case is missing its interior bottom pad. Case: H 2.75", W 2.75", D 0.5" Please see photos.
