Description
These commemorative educational posters, copyrighted in 1985 by the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 46 and the Arizona Memorial Museum Association, offer a comprehensive tactical overview of the “Hawaii Operation” from both the American and Japanese perspectives. The first poster, titled “Hawaii Operation: 7 December 1941,” focuses on the Imperial Japanese Navy’s strike force, featuring diagrams of the Nakajima B5N “Kate” and Mitsubishi A6M2 “Zero,” alongside portraits of Admiral Yamamoto. The second, “Pearl Harbor: 7 December 1941,” details the U.S. Pacific Fleet’s “Battleship Row” and the tragic loss of the USS Arizona. Both pieces are housed in gold-toned metal frames with white matting. The Japanese-focused poster shows a significant diagonal crack in the glass across the upper left quadrant, and both frames exhibit light scuffing and dust accumulation consistent with age; the paper remains vibrant with no major foxing visible.
