Description
Hopkins & Allen Red Jacket No. 8 “Spur-Trigger” Revolver. A great piece of early American pocket gun history, this 32 caliber, unmarked Hopkins & Allen spur trigger revolver features a 2.5-inch barrel with a 5-shot cylinder. This particular model features a bird’s head grip with aged Mother-of-Pearl grips and simple factory scroll engraving/etching on the frame and barrel. The frame and barrel exhibit the factory nickel finish, with area of oxidation, tarnishing and finish loss. The top of the barrel displays the markings “RED JACKET. No 8.” The serial number “16157” is inscribed on the frame under the grips. The bore is clean, and the rifling groves are prominent. The action and trigger are smooth and tight. The overall length of the revolver is 7.5-inches.
