Description

This is a program for Buffalo Bill’s wild West Show from the 1893 season when they performed next to the 1893 Chicago Columbian Exposition World’s Fair. Cody originally approached the Fair Board to set up at the Fair but the Fair Board demanded 50 cents of every ticket dollar sold so Cody rented 14 acres next to the Fair and operated on his own attracting over 5 million visitors during the run. This is an original 65 page show program measuring 9.25″ tall and 7.125″ wide with a color cover. The front cover and first page have a 1″ vertical tear on the bottom right. It is in otherwise VG original condition with historical stories and biographies on the performers. There are 2 different versions of the cover of the Columbian Expo Program cover. The other version is also presented in this auction. From the Wild West Town Union, IL collection,
