Description
This is a great piece of authentic Western Americana. An early double loop, open-top cowboy holster from the late 19th or very early 20th century. Constructed from thick, dark brown leather, it is a right-hand draw design, featuring a classic, somewhat crude look that suggests field use or possibly a smaller, regional saddlery shop rather than a major manufacturer. The defining characteristic is the decoration: it is heavily studded with large, round tacks, forming decorative borders along the belt slots and the face of the holster body. The two horizontal leather loops hold the holster shape, and a leather tie-down thong remains attached at the toe. The condition is visibly worn, consistent with its age and intended use; the leather has a deep, dark patina. H 12.75”, W 6.25”.
