Description
1) Larger example for longarm is a tanned brown, supple leather body, made of two separate sewn halves. Fine seams with tight stitching. Screw-on graduated brass pouring spout with spring operated cut off. In fine untouched condition. Hunting dog walking in front of tree embossed on both sides 1LB S marked on one side. Dimensions: 8.5”x3.5” x 1.5”. 2) Smaller example for pistol is copper/brass alloy with embossed floral/shell design on both halves. Small dents on surface, and minimal separation on seam. Missing spring-steel piece on spout to return lever. Overall good, stable condition. Dimensions: 4.75” x2” x 1”. A pair of powder flasks like these would have been valuable pieces of equipment for Indians and their firearms. See photos.
