1930s Pacific NW Coast Makah Peoples Tray
This hand-woven spiral tray circa 1930s, was made by the Makah people of the Pacific Northwest coast. The Makah are a Southern Wakashan people and are closely related to the Nuu-chah-nulth. They are also noted as whalers. Their territory is around the northwest tip of the Olympic Peninsula. In fair condition, with some loss of woven areas. Diameter: 7.75”. See photos.
