October Fall Classic
Lot 1098:
Description
This is a fantastic piece of Americana, a large, vintage double-sided wooden sign with a beautiful distressed patina. The sign appears to have been painted a barn red, with the name “HAZLE GREEN” stenciled in white paint on both sides. This type of sign was a common sight on old general stores or mercantile buildings, and the wear and tear it shows tells a story of years spent outdoors. The sign is constructed from what appears to be tongue-and-groove pine planks with a simple framed construction. It has heavy wear and is dry and weathered with extensive paint loss, chips, and cracks. Its working condition is unknown and it is being offered as-is. This sign is a substantial piece, measuring approximately 123 inches wide, 15 inches tall, and 3 inches deep.
