Description
This is a fantastic piece of folk art from the American music scene, a hand-painted wooden sign from a concert venue. This piece has a hand-lettered message that reads “NO GLASS BOTTLES ON GROUNDS. COOLERS OR CANS IN CONCERT AREA. WRIST BANDS TO BE WORN AT ALL TIMES. NO REFUNDS. THANK YOU!” The large “NO” and “SHOW RAIN OR SHINE” add to its rustic charm. This sign likely saw use at a small-town venue or a traveling fair. The sign is in heavily distressed condition, with paint loss, chips, scuffs, and cracking. Sign measures approximately 36 inches wide, 34 inches tall, and 2.5 inches deep. See photos.
