Description
Vintage Early 1938 Art Deco Frigidaire General Motors Flat Top Refrigerator.
This 1938 Frigidaire flat top model was manufactured in 1938 (May). Classic upright model with single door. Finished in a glossy white enamel, showing signs of age and wear, commensurate with its age. This may include minor scuffs and chips to its finish. The simple and clean designed front has the “Frigidaire Made Only By General Motors” badge and incorporates a “Food Safety Indicator” with zones labeled “Freezing,” Safety Zone,” and “Danger” and a needle that points to one. An advanced feature for the time. Door features a distinctive elongated chrome push button handle. It has a separate lower valance that hides the feet. The interior Includes 2 shelves along with a Frigidaire hydrator drawer w/cover on the bottom. A drawer missing on the left side. The control panel faceplate has come off, needing 2 screws to secure it in place. When plugged in, the compressor kicks on. It is untested as to how well it cools. Plug has been replaced. Overall finish of the appliance is good with minimal chips or scuffs to the paint. Dimensions: 26”x28”x55”. Please see photos.
