Guns & Militaria Auction
Lot 1035a:
Description
Antique early 1800s Pennsylvania Rifle with double set triggers. Rifle has maker marking ‘Fine” on lock plate and barrel is Signed D. Pollock. Rifle has beautiful Tiger Stripe Maple stock with brass engraved patch box in butt. Rifle appears to be converted to percussion from flintlock ignition. 43″ octagonal barrel appears to be approximately .45 caliber with Octagonal Whitworth style rifling. Rifle action does work, but pieces are missing from tang and metal is heavily worn from age. Very interesting Pennsylvania rifle would make great display piece or something to research. See photos.
