Description
“1928” Colt 1911 .45acp 5″ Pistol in excellent vintage condition with very minor wear marks (a little extra wear on the mainspring back-strap, and some “ring” nicks on the front strap). See photos. Firearm looks to have been professionally reblued some time ago with NO buffing marks and sharp edges. Year of Manufacture: The included Colt letter indicates that this pistol was manufactured and shipped in 1928.
Markings: The left of the slide is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D APR. 20. 1897. SEPT. 9. 1902. DEC. 19. 1905. FEB. 14. 1911. AUG. 19. 1913”. The right of the slide is marked “COLT”, “AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE .45” and with a Rampant Colt. The back of the slide under the firing pin plate is marked “152/166”. The right of the frame is marked “GOVERNMENT MODEL / C152166. The left of the trigger guard has “1” and a “VP” in a triangle, the right has “51”. The top of the frame is marked “S” by the disconnector. The bottom of the barrel is marked “S” in front of the lug. Sights / Optics: The front sight is a rounded blade fixed to the front of the slide. The rear sight is a half moon notch dovetailed to the rear of the slide. Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut. . The checkering is generally sharp. There are no cracks. Overall, the grips are in Very Good condition. Type of Finish: Blue
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. Magazine: Aftermarket, but easily replaced. VERY BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF HISTORY!! Colt Letter! MFG 1928 C&R Eligible S/N::152166
