CIVIL WAR FIELD DRUM – A beautiful “A. Rogers” Snare Marching Drum, circa 1860’s, emblazoned with Eagle and Shield on a blue field, ribbon that reads “Regt. US Infantry” (no number), natural oak body with appropriate brass tack decoration, original paper inside reads “Manufactured by A. Rogers, Flushing, L.I.”, original black painted counter-hoops, what appears to be period heads, snare, ropes and leather Tensioners. 12-3/4″ tall, 16 3/4″ diam. Drumhead stamped “Jos. Rogers Jr. 1st Quality Warranted” Very good condition, minor wear to paint. The drum was part of the Civil War and Indian War display at Donley’s Wild West Town Museum for 45 years.
