Civil War Auction
Lot 286b:
Description
This is an interesting old forage cap that has such a great look for what it is. This cap was made much later than the Civil War but may have been made in the1920s to 1960s. It has matched set of United Confederate Veterans (UCV) buttons for the chinstrap. The red wool body has fading and has much age, wear and some mothing. The cross cannons badge has dark patina. It has an off center leather visor and old chinstrap which shows age and is held in place with the UCV buttons. It is smaller size. We don;t know much more but this could fool a new collector and would display well on a budget.
