Description
This M1861 cartridge box has has been restored partly restored. The box has the metal boxes inside and the inspection stamp on outside right outer flap. We cannot find any maker stamps on any flaps. It is our opinion that the shoulder sling is an old reproduction and the with an original front plate added. It is our opinion, the box “US” oval and box itself are original. Both oval and front plate are lead backed and are secured with leather cord and strip. We welcome any comments and additional information regarding this lot.
