Description
This medal is for Scottish volunteers in the Transvaal War. It is in an A. Alexander Company Glasgow marked leatherette case with the medal proofs for Birmingham maker and lion proof for sterling quality. Ring is also marked with sterling quality lion proof. It is named on the front to “Pte. W. McKinlay” and entire image is all hand etched. On the back is also engraved “BURGH OF HELENBURGH Transvaal War 1900.
