Description
This sword is the M1860 cavalry sword which is marked on ricasso “A.S. Co” over ordnance flaming bomb over “1906”. The other side has ‘U.S.” over JC. The blade is very bright with no dings or nicks to blade edge and tip is good. The handle and crossguard have dark patina. Leather and wire wrapped handle shows lacquer loss to the leather. The wire wrap is very tight. The straps are well made modern copies with brass fittings and look very good with the sword. The sword was the last ghost of the Civil War arsenal till in service before the “Patton” sword came on line.
