Description
From Abe Lincoln to Fred Astaire to Tom Petty, top hats never go out of style. First is a beaver fur, Dunlap & Co., N.Y. top hat with an inside wide leather band. It measures 22″ around inside. It is stamped “Extra Quality” Wm. Wippert – Buffalo. Hat is in very nice condition with slight wear on top rim and inside rim. 5 1/2″ rise. It comes with its own amazing custom leather suitcase-hat box. The box itself is silk lined with multiple leather straps to hold hat in place. Leather tag inside reads: Indestructo-Genuine Cowhide-Guaranteed. Beautiful hat box has hotel sticker “Hotel Isla De Cuba”,
Habana c1888. Leather has one puncture to top of case. There is a U.S. Customs service sticker on the other side of the case. Also in this lot are 2 more beaver fur, top hats. First one is from G.C.W. Fuller – Cambridgeport, Mass. It measures approx. 22″ inside rim with a 6 1/4″ rise VGC
Lastly is an “Excelsior” Chicago top hat also in very good condition with a few small bites to the top of the hat. It measures 20 3/4″ on the inside brim.
