Lot 1211:
Description
This clock in its attractive wood cabinet featuring highly figured hardwood veneers appears to have been rubbed out and retouched. There is some slight veneer lifting on the front door. The top three finials are turned out of solid brass and are possible reproductions. Has its cabinet key. Has a beautifully repainted glass tablet on the lower portion of the front door. Has its original wooden dial and hands in good condition with some minor damage to the bottom of the dial. Has its original cast iron weights, pendulum bob and winding crank. The interior of the cabinet features an attractive original paper label with the maker’s name. Seems to be a 30 hour movement with a bell strike on the hour. This clock dates back to circa 1825-1830. A nice example of a hard to find clock. Clock measures 17-1/2″ W X 4- 1/2″ D X 32″ T.
