Description
VERY RARE!! Gusiloff Werke bcd G43 “Hitler’s Garand” Rifle with a PROTOTYPE compensator or flash hider. The device is unmarked and well made and screws onto the threaded muzzle. The front sight has a modified center with spring tension lever and the device screws on and has notches to lock to the lever. The rifle is in good vintage condition with wear, oxidation and some pitting. The bore’s rifling is good with some freckling and light pitting. The firearm comes with a correct type leather sling, cleaning rod, oiler in the stock and 1x magazine. The trigger assembly has an unusual but correct brass plate insulator above the trigger. The consignor states this rifle’s barrel was threaded in Germany to be a test mule for a PROTOTYPE muzzle device (included)! This is a wartime bring back souvenir, no import marks. The front of the stock has a “Duffel Bag” cut which was cleanly and beautifully repaired! Numbers do not match. Included are three extra parts: a original steel gas tube marked with a electro-pen “69”, an original gas piston and an original hammer with a Waffen Amp “214” and a “0”. C&R Eligible S/N:55400 There is also a rare gcb and “K43” marked magazine. Has WaA 892 waffenamt and also marked “K” on middle of bottom of base plate. Shows much wear and has about 20% black paint. Mag spring is strong. Waffenamt magazine for auction Lot#1452. In Darrin Weaver’s book “Hilter’s Garand”, there are no known examples of these compensator/flashhiders shown. Weaver does comment there were some experimental barrel attachments made and next to none have survived.
