Description

This exceptional collection of prehistoric worked bone and stone artifacts showcases early North American utilitarian craftsmanship, primarily featuring 66 pieces of meticulously worked animal bone tools alongside eight fragments of polished stone and pottery. The assortment includes finely crafted awls, needles, and piercing implements showing distinct socketing and shaping techniques, alongside several ground stone celts or smoothers. These pieces exhibit an aged patina, varying degrees of mineral mineralization, and expected archaeological wear including minor chips, fractures, and blunt tips consistent with burial and utilitarian use. Placed for context alongside a vintage “Lord Clinton” Florida-blend cigar box, the collection varies significantly in size. H 8.75″, W 2.5″, D 1″. Please see photos for condition.
