Description
This is a stunning example of maritime precision, featuring a Chelsea Ship’s Bell movement housed in a bronze ship’s wheel-style case. The dial is double-signed, bearing the marks of the prestigious Chelsea Clock Co. of Boston and the noted retailer Riggs & Bro. of Philadelphia. The heavy bronze construction and “wheel” motif make this a quintessential desk accessory for the serious nautical collector. The piece retains a rich, authentic patina across its surfaces, showing only minor age-appropriate wear and light oxidation typical of vintage maritime brass and bronze.
