Lot 120:
Description
Antique Clark Carriage Heater, made around 1905, a metal container wrapped in carpet that would match most interiors. The instructions were to “place a piece of carbon in a brisk fire until it has become red through and through. Then take it out and leave it for a few second until the little flame has died away. Afterwards place it in the sheet metal box drawer. A full cake of brickette will heat from 12-15 hours. When used the first time, the heater will emit a slight smell due to the presence of oil on the new metal.” Such a great piece of automotive history!
