Description
Taos Pueblo two sided drum, handmade in Taos NM. Constructed with a Cottonwood or pine wood frame and raw hide for the drumheads typically from deer elk or cowhide. It is then stretched tightly over the wood base and secured with crisscrossed lacing. It is natural and unpainted allowing the beauty of the materials to show through. Drums like this play a vital role in ceremonies and gatherings. The wooden beater has a natural bark handle with a soft leather head. Dimensions: drumheads 9.5” diameter x 11” tall. Body diameter approximately 11”. Beater length: 12”. See photos.
