Description
A trio of small pots. 1) Isleta wedding pot, made by and presented to the couple by the groom’s parents. Made of local river clay, the twisted handle symbolizes their union. Published in American Indian Pottery: An Identification and Value Guide by John W Barry. 1981. Page 177. Has been repaired. Exterior design white slip with linear flowing design. Dimensions: 4” wide x4” tall. 2) Isleta pot, with white slip and black linear decoration. Chips and cracks present. Label on base reads: Isleta “1880-1900”. Dimensions: 4” wide x 2.25” tall. 3) Acoma Pueblo pot. White slip, red, black geometric design. Repaired. Dimensions: 5” wide, 3.” rim diameter, 3.25” tall. Rounded base. “Acoma Pottery 61” signed.
