Description

A fantastic collection of Imperial Japanese medals, badges, and pins, a true testament to the nation’s rich military and civil honors tradition. The lot includes a Japanese Order of the Sacred Treasure in the eighth class and a higher-ranking sixth class version, both significant imperial awards. Also present is a boxed Japanese Blue Ribbon Medal of Honor, which is conferred for public service achievements. The assortment features a boxed Japanese soldier’s time-expired special member’s medal, a World War II Imperial Japanese Aviation Association member’s boxed pin in a small wooden box, and a World War II Japanese soldier’s time-expired pin in a modern black velvet box. The collection is housed in a mix of its original presentation boxes (some lacquer and some wood) and one modern case, with the metals generally showing light-to-moderate age-appropriate tarnish and wear on the ribbons, consistent with having been stored over decades. The wooden boxes show some minor scuffs and wear. Largest case is 4”x2.5” x 1”. Smallest case is 1.75” x2.25”x.5”. Please see photos.
