Attributed to Glider Flight Officer Jack R. Hamm, born Jan 26, 1919 and died Oct 12, 1998.
1) Model 1941 Summer khaki uniform coat. Attributed to Glider Flight Officer Jack R. Hamm. Flight officer rank insignia (bullion thread) on shoulder straps. US and Army Air Force lapel insignia w/double clutch back fasteners. Sterling silver Glider Pilot wings (horizontal pin) on chest. Two place ribbon bar: Air Medal w/ 2 bronze oak leaf clusters; European-African Middle Eastern Campaign w/ 1 silver star, 2 bronze stars and 1 bronze arrowhead device. Two place ribbon bar: American Campaign Medal; World War II Victory Medal. Left shoulder sleeve “ Airborne Troop Carrier” insignia. Left sleeve cuff has 3 service stripes. “ J.R. Hamm “ written in ink, on inside of right sleeve lining. No manufacturer tags.
2) Trouser dimensions: 42 in long. The name “ Jack R. Hamm” written in ink on the interior of waistband. “ 576 Hamm O K “ marked on back of rear right pocket lining. Some fraying at base of pantleg. As well as some random stain spots on coat as well.
3) Khaki shirt features Army Air Force patch on left shoulder, and 3 service stripes at cuff. Satin lining at neck with name “ HAMM ” written in center below collar. Marked “ JRH “ at base of shirt closure. Tag: “ Styled by GORDON Dry Clean “ Visible holes and impressions where insignia, other devices were affixed. Dimensions 21 in wide x 31 in long.
4) Khaki necktie 46 in long. Marked “ HAMM “ and “ A3192 “ and “ N JRH “
5) Air Medal with engraving on back: “JACK R. HAMM “ No clasp hardware affixed to the suspension ribbon. Shallow scratches across parts of engraved name.
6) Modern photo print of original WWII photo of Jack R. Hamm in uniform. Text on back reads: “In 1945 while finishing or after becoming a full fledged pilot. That was written on ….” “Betty: I’m a pilot now. Germany 1945 “
