Civil War Auction
Lot 203:
This sword is marked on the ricasso Horstmann with shortened abbreviation for Philadelphia that is hard to read. Blade is 35.25″ and 43.25″ overall. Blade has darkened and but has no chips and has one nick at 4″ from tip. There is some modern grinding near edge at the last 6″ of sword. The tip is good. The leather and wire wrap is tight and in good condition. Brass crossguard and pummel show much tarnish and wear. The scabbard had been chromed and repainted over the years and has darkened over time. This is a chance to pick up a real sword for not a heck of a lot.
