Vintage cast metal Chicago Police call box on original street mount post. This type of box was used exclusively by police foot patrols to check in or call for assistance prior to the days of officers having personal radios, The inside of the box has a hand held phone set which has been rewired to be used as a extension phone in a home. Comes with the key for the door lock and a wood plaque with the history of the Chicago Police call box system. In VG restored condition. Measures 72″ tall.
