Antique, Original Stagecoach Strong Box, heavy-duty containers used to transport valuables across the American West, heavy iron binding straps and reinforced corners designed to withstand rough travel and resist robbery attempts, top handle allowed for lifting on the boot of the stagecoach directly under the driver’s feet for protection, fitted with three internal drawers to organize smaller items and documents, leather on handle is worn and brittle, cracks in the wood, missing a couple screws, age-appropriate wear, also includes a great antique heart-shaped padlock with a key marked “D.M. & Co, likely manufactured by Davenport Mallory & Co, New Haven, CT, steel body with brass draft cover over keyhole, dates mid to late 19th century, see photos. 20″ x 12″ x 9 1/4”. 26lbs
