Description

This set of three “Imperial Mixture” tobacco tins was manufactured expressly for the historic Hudson’s Bay Company, featuring their iconic “Pro Pelle Cutem” coat of arms. These vibrant red lithographed containers represent the storied legacy of the “Governor and Company of Adventurers of England Trading into Hudson’s Bay,” established in 1670. The collection includes one large canister and two smaller pocket-sized tins, all showcasing the classic gold and black typography synonymous with early 20th-century frontier commerce. The tins exhibit a desirable aged patina with moderate surface wear, including scattered scratches, oxidation on the exposed metal bottoms, and some fading/chipping to the lithography consistent with authentic use. The largest tin has a slight indentation on the bottom rim H 6″, W 4.25″, D 4.25″ (Large); H 1.75″, W 3.25″, D 3.25″ (Small). Please see photos.
