Description
35pc Stone Projectile Point Collection
This diverse assembly of 35 lithic artifacts features an impressive range of prehistoric North American craftsmanship, carefully housed in a cotton-lined Ryker display case. Per the included provenance label, the collection features specimens identified as “Hennepin,” “Loe,” and “Oxbow” types, which were “chipped from meadow” environments. The collection is notable for its variety of forms, including a prominent 2.5″ translucent chert blade and a rare, elongated dark knapped drill or punch, also measuring 2.5″. While the dark specimens appear similar to obsidian, they are more likely high-grade dark chert or flint, consistent with Midwestern finds. Materials represented include high-quality chalcedony, jasper, and mottled flint, showcasing a wide temporal reach. These items are in excellent “as-found” condition, displaying authentic percussion flaking and aged patinas, with only minor prehistoric edge wear and expected distal chips. The display case remains in sturdy, functional condition. H 0.75″, W 12″, D 8.25″. Please see photos.
