Description
*CANNOT SELL TO ILLINOIS RESIDENTS*
A desirable, never fired Beretta BM59 semi-automatic rifle chamber in 7.62 NATO and imported by Springfield Armory. After Beretta ceased direct imports in 1984, Springfield Armory’s purchased the original Italian machinery, tooling, and thousands of receiver forgings and parts. Using the new old stock Italian parts, Springfield Armory assembled these components into complete rifles in the U.S. and stamped their name on the side of the receiver. Chambered in 7.62 NATO, the BM59 was an Italian battle rifle developed in 1959 and resembled the American M14. It features a detachable 20-round box magazine, integrated folding bipod, grenade launcher sight, and the distinctive “tri-compensator” flash hider/muzzle brake/launcher. This specific rifle’s receiver is clearly marked “P. BERETTA 7.62mm BM 59” with the Gardone V.T. Italia origin and serial number X001352. Notably, the receiver bears “SPRINGFIELD ARMORY” markings on the left side. Many of the small parts are stamped “PB BM59”, indicating the use of original Italian surplus parts. The walnut furniture is in excellent condition, showing no marks or dings. Metal retains a strong parkerized finish, which is 99%. The single magazine bearing the markings “PB BM59”. Bore and rifling are mint. . Mechanically, the action and trigger are tight and appear to function properly. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N: X001352
